Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) provides authentication services for the signatures of Notaries Public appointed in Singapore by virtue of Rule 12 of the Singapore Academy of Law Rules.

All documents that require notarisation by a Notary Public in Singapore will have to be authenticated and legalised by SAL.

“By virtue of Rule 8(3)(c) of the Notaries Public Rules, a Notarial Certificate must be authenticated by the Singapore Academy of Law in order to be valid.” A notarised document without SAL’s authentication and legalisation is considered to be invalid.

We will then provide you with a quote and an appointment.
At the appointment, the notarisation will be done.
We shall make arrangements to go to the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) for authentication on your behalf if required. Once the document returns, you may pick up the notarised and authenticated document within the same date. However, please take note that the turnover time may vary if there are several documents to be notarized.
- I wish to have my documents certified as true copies, do I need to see the notary public? ▿
No, you do not have to meet the notary public in person, but the notary public will have to see the original documents. You can either choose to:
+ email us a clear scan copy of your documents and make advance payment so that we can proceed to prepare the documents for you.
+ or drop off the documents at our office or have it couriered to us during office hours.
Once it is ready for collection, we will inform you and make appointment for you to come over our office and bring along your original documents for the notary public to have sight of.
- Do I need to bring my passport or identity card with me when collecting my certified true copy documents? ▿
No, you do not need to bring your identity card. Only the original documents are required.
- I wish to have my signature witnessed by the notary public, what documents should I bring? ▿
Kindly bring your government issued photo identification document (i.e. your NRIC, passport or Work Pass)
& the unsigned document(s) to be notarized. The Notary Public needs to see you signing the document(s).
